On a ship there were three brothers
They were fine facing the sea
Three tall tough men of the Finistère
Caught on the river in the dept of the winter

In the mouth of the St-Laurent river

On their faces the wind icing

Full of hope and uncertainty

In December they ask
For the three mistresses’hand
All pleased, they accepted
