Bodies of Water Follow

When we drew the curtain, the light of day
Shone and filled us up with a kind of grace
It was sorely needed because the light
Showed how vile we were in our hearts and minds

We had it inside us right up 'til we forced it up and out
We had a sweetness thick down in
That blocked us from what we required

We coughed up honey into the air
There was a message, there was a meaning
We forced the sweetness up and out of us
Onto the window, onto the window

We flung the curtains back, it was everywhere
Drip, drip, down to the window and wall to the rug
No one could see out to the tennis courts
And it blocked our view of the condos and sea

Here comes my hand and here comes my body
Here comes a feather, here comes a bike chain
Pull the drapes shut and come back to bed and
