I sat there and listened to the reasons I was given
As to why her bags were sittin' by the door
In great detail she told me how she could no longer live here
And it just wasn't working anymore
She had finally finished and her anger had diminished
Well, I took her hand and looked her in the eye
And in my desperation, I guess somehow I explained
Why it would be a shame to leave all this behind
