I ain't got a whole lot of money, I ain't got a whole lot of time. So I'm writin you here this letter dear, to tell you what's on my mind. Been a long time coming, that you gotta know is true. I ain't got too much money honey, and I ain't got time for you.

You see before I knew you dear, I had me another love. He was tall, dark, and handsome, the one I called the one. Thought it was a long time comin then too, but I found out through all my doubt that I had been a fool.

So I'm leaving, out where I belong. Going out west where my one true love carries on. And I feel like crying, but I don't know why, cause I know love never dies. And some things have got to change.

Driving out into the sunset, all my windows down. Looking back on all the memories, the radio's playing loud. But I can't hear a thing, I'm really not there at all. I'm dancing with you sweetly dear and I feel our bodies fall.

No I never wore your wedding ring. I regret, I never could. Never mothered your child or seen you in a smile. And I feel like crying but I don't know why, cause I know, love never dies. And some things have got to change.

I see that since I've left you dear, you've found you another love. She's gone and given up her hand, the one you call the one. Guess it was a long time coming, but I really got mine too. Through all the miles and memories, I am still a fool.

Suddenly then, back where I come from. It is more than a sweet to see you with her carry on. And I feel like crying but I hold back the tears cause I know, love never dies. And some things have got to change. Some things have got to change.
