Celtic Woman: The Deer's Cry

The song is beautiful but the lyrics are incomplete. I posted the correct version. Enjoy. In this day and age this is a powerful prayer to invoke protection against the forces of evil.

The story goes that St Patrick gave this prayer to his monks to protect them as they journeyed through Ireland. The king at that time was Loegaire who reigned from 428 to 462. Loegaire hated St Patrick and set up ambushes to capture & kill his monks. In reciting his prayer the monks became invisible to these forces of evil. To the assasins the monks appeared as deer and hence the connection to the name of this prayer.

I received this gift from a true Irish Catholic on this past St Patrick's Day 2013.
