He happened upon my late night scene
He rode into town about 12:15
In a '69 overpainted Emerald Green
Smelling like weed and Alf Fouchine

'Said that he was looking for this kid, Eugene
Who lived on the corner of Fifth and Macy
Gene was messin' 'round with his wife, Doreen
Under the kicked-in door he heard him scream

He said
"I've got so much trouble on my mind
That I even scare myself sometimes
I make a threat, my conscious sweats,

he pulled a cold .45 from the heel of his shoe
I heard two shots and Gene caught one
