Every now and then I see the both of them

sprinting sideways across the AM.

And they slide through the kilohertz range,

and bounce themselves, and bounce themselves.

They slide up through the megahertz range.

Every now and again I see all three of them

take a turn at the turnstile to get me a free in,

and your Metrocard is turning its back.

The crystal in your palm turns a dark shade of black,

Every now and again I quit my job at the laminate factory,

applying wood onto wood in thin layers, sometimes as much

as five layers thick.

And then I spit out the splinters,
