No warning flare screamed through the air
Lights and wind and rain
The granite teeth of Mizen Reef had risen once again
Many a mast was broken
Many a spire was saved
Many a ship was pulled below down to its watery grave

In Village Bar and houses far
They answered to the cry
At the door of number four
She kissed her love goodbye
