Room # 909 lyrics

Room # 909

Lyrics and Music by: Mark Clark

Lost in my own mind trying to find my way back to room # 909
The elevator that was there is gone I swear I rode it up just fine
Confused, I looked around and all I found was an arrow blinking red
Running down the hall the pictures on the wall opened up their eyes and said
Here’s what they said

There’s a whole lotta ways to get in
But there’s only one way out
With the flick of a simple light switch
You get to leave without a doubt
No matter how many toys you came with
Or how blue your bloodline
Like it or not, you can’t always stay in
Room # 909

Opened the stairwell door headed to the 9th floor the alarm began to ring
The stairs began to move I was oh so smooth I tripped on my own shoestring
Face down, I start to crawl this room’s getting small spinning like a ferris wheel
Panic in my bones wishing I was safe at home are these illusions or for real?
Tell me what’s the deal

Fell right through a hole in the floor
And out of nowhere came this sign
Said you’ve only got one shot at this life
Tellin’ me to go ahead and make it mine
