I used to be somebody in the general scheme of things
I built myself a folly cause it looked like it had wings
Then I started to run from myself
I became someone else
I was running straight to hell

I can’t go on, somehow I’ve got to change
Whenever I reach for the night
You know it just aint right
Cos it’s a pretty scary sound
To hear your future running down

I thought I was a mirror,
looking down from a golden wall
Thought I was a killer, didn’t know nothing at all
I started to live in the dark
I lost sight of the spark
Then I was out of the ballpark
I said, you gotta help me now,
It’s getting kinda weird
I can’t go on somehow, I’ve got this fear
Now whenever I reach for the night
I know it just aint right
Cos it’s a pretty scary sound
To hear your future leaving town…..

I heard the answer from deep in my soul
You’ve got to warm up, keep out of the cold,

You got so many miles, can’t just end up dead,
Get rollin instead….

Now my train can still sing along those silver rails
I’m wearing love’s ring and my heart is out of jail
The shadows scare no more,
