Set 'em up for the dead end kids.
The young and the restless, the kin.
And all of the houses that they grew up in,
Are now gone.

She used to know me by name.
Like a child she would dance in the rain.
But now she just drinks cocaine because she can.

And I never thought I'd see the day
When all of the paintings went gray,
Like the flowers that lay on the graves
Of the ones who die young.

Shed a tear for the ones who would hope
To hang you with the shortest of rope.
Just as quick as they judge, they go to find the next.

See these breaks in the stones when they crack,
Reminds you of all that you lack.
And your best friends will just turn their backs
Because they can.

And I never thought I'd see the day

Say a prayer for the ones like you,
Who are simple and honest and true.
When we spoke last night well you knew,
But you never showed.
