Take A Bow Lyrics & Video
Muse See albums and popular songs
Corrupt, you corrupt,
Bring corruption to all that you touch.
Hold, you’ll behold,
And beholden and for all that you’ve done.
And Spell, cast a spell,
Cast a spell on the country you run.
And risk, you will risk,
You will risk all their lives and their souls.
And burn, you will burn,
You will burn in hell, yeah you’ll burn in hell.
You’ll burn in hell, yeah you’ll burn in hell for your sins.
Ooohhh.
Our freedom is consuming itself,
What we will become is contrary to what we want
Take a bow.
Death, you bring death and destruction to all that you touch.
Pay, you must pay
You must pay for your crimes against the earth.
Hex, feed the hex
Feed the hex on the country you love
Beg, you will beg
You will beg for their lives and their souls.
Yeah,
Burn, you will burn,
You will burn in hell, yeah you’ll burn in hell,
You’ll burn in hell, yeah you’ll in hell,
Burn in hell, yeah you'll burn in hell for your sins.

i think this song aint that great its like saying something ove and over againit does pretty stink its ghaustly
As many songs in this album. this song is against the leaders of western countries, imperialist's, corruptionism and mainly totalitarianism. Basicly saying look what you've done and take a bow and you will pay for it.
Best song I have heard in a long time. Excellent!
Its really quite a cool song, i like it!
Amazing song! just like the album, anyone that doesnt like this album doesnt like music. if you listen to the lyrics you can see the try meaning to the song and what it says is true
Love this song...Love this album...Love this band....I can't believe I'm going to see them tonight.
Matt did an awesome job on this song. His vocals were what caught my attention to it and then the strength of the song at the end. The lyrics were just the cherry on the cake. A powerful with meaning. I love it! What more could I ask for? Kudos Muse!
good ol muse!
reminds me of BIG DAY OUT 2004 - australia.
fucking brilliant.this is the Muse i know. sounds just like Apocalypse please. < 3
You can really tell that Muse are strong firm with their political beliefs, throughout the album the lyrics really do seem to be sprung anti-american, of how sending battalions to war haven't helped, just a sacrifice of the innocence, a remarkable album with great meaning, raising my cup of wine to this album, yet I prefer the Absolution album more, these songs are a powerful piece of propaganda great work :)
This is a song is thick w/ atmosphere. It starts out sounding kind of eerie, then escelates and builds up to a massive rock thrashing at the end. Its always good to see a band that can consistantly produce great intro tracks. Classic MUSE.
When I first heard it I was convinced it was about Saddam Hussain but after listening to the rest of the album it seemed more anti-Bush/Blair. Could also be anti-totalitarian. Very interesting anyway.
I think MUSE might have pushed it a little to far with this one, I dont think they needed to impose religious and political beliefs so hard on this album. loved all there other albums, I have to listen to this one a little more.
I just love muse
This is a very good one. Black holes and Revelations is a very good album from MUSE, but probably,ABSOLUTION, and ORIGIN OF SYMMETRY are better like the new album. I don't know why. Maybe The muse is not the old.
This is the Muse album you have to listen to 20 times to realize how amazing it truely is, this is fine art.
Amy (first reviewer) - you sound like an ignorant american - you just don't get it do you? The song is exactly what Steve says. Take a bow Dubya, take a bow for all the you have done.
MUSE isnt anti-american... they're anti-sucky leaders.
I don't totally agree with what they say (I mean dubya is rather stupid, but honestly if no one does anything about the pissed off muslims, the world will basically end) but this song is still awesome. You will burn in hell, yeah youll burn in hell... powerful, especially from a bunch of ATHEISTS >.>?
I love this song, and it is amazing live too!! I think it was a great way to end a great night and I just think its an amazing song thick with instrumental and lots of feeling. Loving ALL of Muse's work. Matt Bellamy
Joe - you sound like a typical ignorant american who blames and generalizes that the muslim people are evil! You fell for what the govenrment instill in you. This song has so much truth to it and Wake up people so many innocent iraquis are dying just because Bush and his buddies Cheney (Hallburton) want to take control of foreing Oil that DOES NOT belong to them.
I am glad Blair resigned and Bush should step down as well and go to jail for crimes against humanity.
any problems? visit my myspace - myspace.com/danielmarquez6782I think this is the most progressive and brilliant bands of our time. Ashame they aren't more popular in the US. They must be one of my favorite bands of all time.
This is one of the most powerful songs on any of their albums, I think. It begins eerily and the swells into a huge rocky crescendo. The lyrics are hard core and intense. I kind of agree with everyone else, mainly about Bush but also could be referencing other world leaders.
Bravo Muse, you guys are the best.
i don't like how everyone assumes this song refers to specifically GWB. i'm reminded of incubus' megalomaniac, how everyone siad it was anti-bush, but the band maintained they had not intended the song to specifically attack anyone. however if take a bow WAS directed to a specific leader of a nation, i would think tony blair before bush, because muse are british, and it seems natural to criticize one's own leaders (like americans criticize bush).
I Love This Song!
Its very dark & deep, But if you truly listen to the lyrics and think of the leaders of the world, You should get it!
Tis wonderful! This is a brilliant song - whether it's refering to Bush or not. At least Muse is classy enough not to name names. Allowing the listener to decide who it applies to. Quit frankly, any one who knows the slightest thing about history and politics - could think of many truly evil dictators and despots that this song would apply to perfectly. Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao, Mugabe...just to name some of the biggies. GWB may be misguided - but evil? That opinion is an embarassing testament to our generation of 'the priviledged' who have no concept to distinguise the difference.
The lyrics are powerful. They're dark, they're deep, they're passionate and they reflect whichever political system or country or era you view it from. No fingers are pointed. If the cap fits, wear it - Bush, Blair, Dubya... Mao Tse-Tung or Hitler, eastern or western nations, imperialist or totalitarian.
The fact is, they flow and race and reverberate with the inspired instrumentals.
What a fantastic track!
Whatever your political beliefs, well done, Muse!
The album is brilliant - a feast for your senses.
Looking forward to the fifth Muse album to add to my collection.
