Long and cold breathe the nights
This sacred bin is our TV for the night,
The flames swallow all that we discard.
Thrown amongst the burnable
Are the stories many tell to warm the eyes
And the hearts of the starved.
The new fish on the line reels in
And wants to know about the man who had everything
In the palm of his hand but then lost it all,
'Cause the whirlwind of his greed
Swept away the only love he had.

The cold exposed my battle-scars,
The nights unfolded feeding hearts
Of strangers who were eager to believe.

Of shedding light on the darkest days,

As the glowing embers shield the frost
And the bitterness hits our silhouettes,
