Hallelujah lyrics

(*Jeff Buckley)

I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the lord
But you don't really care for music do ya

It goes like this the 4th the 5th minor fall the major lift
The baffled king composing hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moon light over threw ya
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your thrown she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the hallelujah

Hallelujah

Baby I've been her before
I know this room and I walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew ya
Seen your flag on the marble arch and
Love is not a victory march
It's cold and it's a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah

Did my best it wasn't much
Couldn't feel so I try to touch
I told the truth I didn't come to fool ya
Even though it all went wrong
Stand before the lord of song
With nothing on my tongue but hallelujah

Hallelujah

(*Jeff Buckley)

The words to this song "Always There" are beautiful and make a lovely poem. Of course, they are better with The Canadian Tenors singing them. I just can't get enough of this song!
