The High Confessions Follow

I try to reach a few decisions
By driving 'round myself at night
Before an up and running water
And insane shadows in the light

Don't wanna see no living creature
I'll close my eyes and breathe the smoke
I'll burn the meaning from the pages
Deface the language that you wrote

At times escape is real danger
Connects the focus to the fate
It pulls them out from off the mountain
And keeps impostors in the shade

I can't believe that they are lifting
It just revealed another wall
The bullet holes are self inflicting
They're closing up just when you call

And my mistakes reflect a trend
I closely guard if you're a-falling
I need a circumstance, a friend

A bolt of certainty and purpose
Contract like eyeballs in the sun
Reveals another wall of injured
The bullets fly back to the gun

I threw the statues on the train tracks
And you mistook them for the cops
Headlights are picking out from stone eyes
And they just shatter when they drop

I'm driving 'round myself at midnight
Walked to the car park on my own
I'm trying to entertain these creatures
And mug the drivers when I'm done
