lately words awkwardly fall out of me
like your first at bat
missing and all that
and I can’t seem to finish a simple sentence, a thought progression
guess I need not mention when I stop to think
I forget everything
and you can’t write it down
it’s no verb or no noun
it’s like a story told ‘fore you ever get old
or like a seventh sense or is coincidence
Then we think we’re torn, when really we’re just worn
and when we don’t understand it’s like some divine hand
and as the days do pass, nothing in nature lasts
and I can’t swallow it, it just seems too big to fit
and when the darkness come
androgynous and numb
say no more in ‘04, be like you’re heavens’ door
thank god for chance meetings, chances are our best things
up there with ocean waves, and sleeping in all day
and stayin’ up all night and knowin’ you’re so right
