The Heart of Me lyrics
There is a place in the night,
Where I know,
It will always be right
Somewhere that I can just be,
Really be,
But the world doesn't see...
All of the words that I'm writing
All of the songs brought to life
You better find what I'm hiding
So go ahead and try,
Before it passes by...
Break right through
Right through the heart of me
It could be so easy
It could be just what I need
If you'd just understand
All that I want, and who I am
Maybe the world might see
All of this love in me
I've got to try--
To make the notes loud and clear,
So you'll hear,
That the melody's strong
You've got to feel it in your bones,
High and low,
This is where we belong...
Cause in the night, nothing matters
So close your eyes, and sing along
It's not your average music
I hope it takes you far,
Inside of who you are...
Break right through
Right through the heart of me
It could be so easy
It could be just what I need
If you'd just understand
All that I want, and who I am
Maybe the world might be
Part of this love in me
I'm so tired of hearin' all these love songs
Meant for someone else to sing and play
I'd like to know what happened--
To the ones who can create
Somethin' new...
Somethin' true...
Somethin' great...
You ought to know--
These melodies are my own
Writing songs--
That's one thing I can do
And when I get in my flow
I let go
And there's no right or wrong...
Break right through
Right through the heart of me
It could be so easy
It could be just what I need
And it you'd just understand
All that I want, and who I am
Maybe the world might see
All of this love in me,
Right through the heart of me,
Right through the heart of me...
Just wait and see

This is the first song I have played over and over continually since...what?!! It hits me on all levels...I can't stop listening to it. I was first attracted to how it was delivered and then I needed to figure out why...which led me to downloading the lyrics...which totally resonated with me, but, then I had to figure out how authentic they were...and then, I was floored...she wrote this?! She was also the one banging on the piano? I am just so damn impressed. I can not stop listening to this.
