April Showers lyrics
Life is not a highway filled with flowers,
Still it holds a goodly share of bliss.
When the sun gives way to April showers
Here's the point that you should never miss:
Though April showers may come your way,
They bring the flowers that bloom in May.
And if it's raining, have no regrets,
Because it isn't raining rain, you know,
It's raining violets.
And when you see clouds upon the hills,
You soon will see crowds of daffodils.
So keep on looking for the blue bird
And listening for his song
Whenever April showers come along.

In my opinion, Al Jolson was a great and enjoyable stylized entertainer. Greg W. Brendon, Dublin, OH., and his rendition of April Showers wss a mainstay for him.

Lyrics of April Showers as I recall them--Greg Brendon, 6/15/2012.
Though April showers may come your way,/They bring the flowers that bloom in May./So if it's raining, have no regrets,/Because it isn't raining rain you know,/It's raining violets./So when you see clouds upon the hills,/You soon will see crowds of daffodils./So keep on looking for the bluebird/ And listening for his song/Whenever April showers come along.
According to George Burns, Al Jolson was once considered the greatest entertainer on earth, at least in the view of those on Broadway, probably before and after 1920 or so.
