633 Squadron lyrics

About a polished Boeing that is blinding as the snow....
She's the toughest bomber ever built, One of few survived....
You can see her soaring up above, the sunny Mesa skies...

She's beautiful, she's shiny and her four propellers sing...
She's the wonder and the pride and joy of the Arizona Wing....
You can hear her engines thunder from at least five miles away.
She's the Sentimental Journey, all the people point and say...

Look at her Go... Look at her Fly....
Ghost Squadron of the Sky...

Manhart yelled, you gotta love that Flying Fortress sound,
But Kimmel came in way to fast and had to go around...
Houdeshell was barking as they turned there downwind leg,
So Loomis whispered in his ear "Floyd, you can hump my leg".

Now Brian marshaled in our boys, we call him Pumpkin One...
He hates us when we call him that, but we kid him just in fun...
Aubrey hollered "Park her here, Newberg, move your car".
I told him "Sam Korth parks here too, who do you think you are"....

The next day was McCaushem's turn to fly the mighty Fort,
His crew was smartly uniformed, and Reed showed up in shorts..
He cranked on Number 2 until she backfired then she stalled,
But engines 1 and 3 and 4 ........ he couldn't start at all.....

Look at Boone tow.... Look at Reed cry...
Ghost Squadron of the Sky....

Pete Loguda threw a wrench, then crawled back in his hole,
Then Jacobson yelled hold it Boone and let me have a go...
"I've been starting these round engines before you were even born",
So he hit the switches and the primes, then all the engines roared...

Look at her Go.......Look at her Fly....
Ghost Squadron of the Sky...
Ghost Squadron of the Sky....
Ghost Squadron of the Sky.............

About a polished Boeing that is blinding as the snow....
She's the toughest bomber ever built, One of few survived....
