Little Love, A Little Kiss - Jan Peerce lyrics

Just a Little Love

Wnen the scented night of summer covers
Fields and city with a veil of blue
All the lanes are full of straying lovers
Murmuring the words I say to you

Just a little love, a little kiss
Just an hour that holds a world of bliss
Eyes that sparkle like the stars above me
And the little words that say, you love me.

Night will come and day will follow after
Other trials will come again someday
And through all the weeping and the laughter
You will always hear these words I say

Just a little love, a little kiss
I would give you all my life for this
As I hold you fast and bend above you
And I hear you whispering, I love you.

My father lost his voice to cancer in 1957. This was one of his favorite songs. I was 14 at the time and my father always asked me to play and sing this song. I am 70 now and I've been thinking a lot about those times lately.
