  hi.I'm from Iran and I think no one better than me could talk about not having the freedom of speak.
  but we say our opinion although we know we may be killed for it!
  I like this song cause I had a time like that I was betrayed so hard...but I believe we should FORGIVE and it sounds good!!!!you recieve such happiness when you have the ability to forgive...
  why you guys keep talking about the president?I'm currious to know what does this song have to do with him???

  I was reading some of the coments and telling someone to go die is a terribal thing the dixie chicks have made mistakes but who hasent they have there freedom of speach as dose everyone els I think that georg bush and everyone els who hates them for wat they said frgot that our constatution alous everyone to there free speach and they had the guts to stand up for what they belive in the people that hate them for that are so childish you need to listen to this song more clostly . so for me I shall always remember them as the sassy singers that they are and so should you thank you for listining.

  I LOVE THIS SONG!!! I can totally relate to the part where they received threats because they voiced their opinion. In my workplace I've always stood up for what is right so I always bump heads with tons of people who love bending the rules. I've basically been told that if I don't go with the flow my career will be ruined.... but what the heck!

  I totally support standing up for what you believe in!

  i think this song is amazing and so powerful. being from england and not america i cant comment on your president. but i will say the dixie chicks had every right to say what they wanted. to the people on here who said they suck and should die - i dont quite think you got the point of their lyrics! listen again - you are like the one who wrote the letter to the stranger! plus if you can say things like that about them then surely they can say what they like about the president!

  I like this song a lot:) I find it super powerful. I HATE country and I dont realy like the Dixie Chicks. But this song is DEFINTLY the best song they have ever written.

  The president isnt even from Texas. he's from New England ( and I am ashamed of that). USA love it or leave it. And being from the USA means you are able to say "the president sucks". It is one of our most fundamental rights. So if you dont like that- Go to france you fascist and go back to civics class or read a book and learn what being an American means.

  Hey, there's nothing wrong with having a different opinion, but can you do it intelligently? Abby is "reasonably" coherent with her comments, but come on guys. You make yourselves sound like red-neck trailer trash when you resort to name-calling and death threats. You are probably the same people who threatened the life of the driver who hit Dale Earnhardt.   This song is horrible. The Dixie chicks SUCK! big time. they are the most disrespectful, horrible singing group ou tthere and they should be completely ashamed. saying to disagree with the president is one thing but saying your "ashamed that he is from Texas" is a completely different thing. you make me sick

  What Mr. Bush and the right wing keep forgetting is that it is the ability to disagree that makes this country great! I am also sick of him and his cronies equating vocal opposition to his policies in Iraq with non-support of the troops. What happened to our freedoms? Whether you agree with or disagree with the Chicks, and I happen to agree with them, we have a great country that lets them have an opinion.

  I love this song. i think it takes guts to do what the dixie chicks did. People, or shall i say, Americans fail to remember that The United States constitution allows us the freedom to say anything negative about anyone we desire. Im not ready to make nice, is a powerful song and sends out a powerful message declaring everyone to remember that sometimes we have to stand up for what we believe in, even if we stand alone. We as American need to learn our history, or we shall be doomed to repeat it.

  the song's great! it relates to my story. i'm not ready to make nice. i haven't forgotten what that bull has done to me. and i'm still waiting for that time when wounds will heal.. i wish it'd come now though... i'm tired but i can't forgive yet, but i'm still so angry

  Standing up for what you believe is never easy. I find this video and song very powerful. The energy behind the images and words is so amazing and moving. I value a persons right to speak out and I hope she never shuts her pretty mouth!

  Being a strong person isn't easy behing a strong powerful woman is damn near impossible...but you are doing a great job!
