We need to learn so much to know
How much we didn’t need to know
We need to learn the words to say
We didn’t have to know at all
We have to prove and ask around
To find that which will give us pain
We then have to investigate to make
Sure that we’re hurt again
We can’t accept the simple joys without
A doubt that they exist
We can’t accept the touch of lips without
The fear that we’ve been kissed
Then we thought of what it means
Ensures that we’ll be depressed
We must remove it’s residue for
Fear we’ll be possessed
We need to learn so much to know
About how much we didn’t need to know
We need to learn the words to say
We didn’t have to know at all
Then we find that we’re alone
And wonder at the why and how
And so we learn that to unlearn may
