Ruhe Sanft, Mein Holdes Leben lyrics
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight
Somewhere out there, someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another, in that big somewhere out there
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
When the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky!
Somewhere out there, if love can see us through
Then we'll be together, somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky!
Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together, somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight
Somewhere out there, someone's saying a prayer

I am amazed that there is an unexpected jump in Ruhe sanft mein holdes Le-EBEN, instead av the expected continuation. It seems to me that Mozart thought: everybody knows what ought to come, a slow downgoing and then a repeat of the sequence, higher up, with continuation. So, lets jump directliy, lets skip the second part and instead add the continuation. I cannot recall a similar jump in any other Mozart aria. Can anybody explain this to me?
