The Joker lyrics
The Joker is me…
There's always a Joker in the pack
There's always a cardboard clown
The poor painted fool falls on his back
And ev'ryone laughs when he's down
There's always a funny man in the game
But he's only funny by mistake
But ev'ryone laughs at him, just the same
They don't see his painted heart break
They don't care as long as there is a jester, just a fool
As foolish as he can be
There's always a Joker, that's a rule
But fate deals the hand and I see
The Joker is me
There's always a funny man in the game
But he's only funny by mistake
But ev'ryone laughs at him, just the same
They don't see his painted heart break
They don't care as long as there is a jester, just a fool
As foolish as he can be
There's always a Joker, that's a rule
But fate deals the hand and I see
The Joker is me
The Joker is me
The Joker is me

help.
trying to find recording and/or lyrics to a piece newley did for an alan king special in the late 70s or early 80s.
king asked him to write it just for this this tv special. it was called, I believe, (the) "funny man".
the lyrics were pure 'newley' genius: the monster with a thousand eyes is shouting to be fed.....make us kaugh mr. funny man......and so on.
the track, "The Joker" carries about 60% of the song I want. Perhaps he wrote on, then the other, or vice-versa.
help please.
thank you
