Free - Emily McEwan, Seawind Project lyrics
Looking up towards the sky on a quiet afternoon,
On my mind were thoughts of only you,
Soft were the colors in the silent fade of day,
Warm was the voice that carried me away.
Ooooo,
I could hear him saying,
Ooooo,
Won't you follow me,
Taken up above the clouds not knowing what I'd find,
I began to hear a song of another world and time,
Listen to the melody my heart began to pound,
I saw the morning star with its children gathered 'round.
Ooooo,
I could hear him saying,
Ooooo,
No matter who you are you can have the morning star.
Ooooo, all heaven was ringing,
Ooooo,
In the twinkling of an eye I was taken higher bound.
As time stood still, my heart could see,
That day of days when all mankind would be free.
Free,
No more hatred no more lying, Free,
Free,
No more hunger no more dying, Free,
Free,
All the colors of the rainbow shining, Free,
Free,
With the morning star loving you and me.
Free,
No more hatred no more lying, Free,
Free,
No more hunger no more dying, Free,
Free,
All the colors of the rainbow shining, Free,
Free,
With the morning star loving you and me, Loving you and me.
Free,
No more hatred no more lying, Free,
Free,
No more hunger no more dying, Free.

The song is by Seawind, from the album "Light the Light" released in 1979. You can check out the song, "Free" on YouTube or read about the group on wikipedia or even on their own low-level website: seawindjazz.com. The song is also on a great compilation album called "Groovy Vol. 6: A Collection of Rare Jazzy Club Tracks." I definitely recommend this album, all of the songs are great--you will NOT be disappointed! You should pick it up from Dusty Groove America(dustygroove.com). I used to be a manager there--as a matter of fact, that's where I first heard the Seawind song. Ah, those were the days. Hope this helps!
