Rainy days ain't so bad
The light on in the window's
something that we ain't never had
to guide these wandering feet
back to some place they barely met
crossing foreign lands and smoke
in hand your cigarettes
far from home and Lord you know
I just want to look my best.
I'll call you late at night to find out
how very cold it gets when im gone

hang a lock upon my door
and brave another crowded hall
and another crowded floor
just to dance would be so nice,
I ain't looking for no whore,
but between my drinking and my sleep
I've got time for a litle more

well poor caroline
times just seem so good
since you've gone away to find a place to keep
well you might be inclined
to save your self the time
and pack your things and go while I'm asleep

so I'll brave the morning crowd
to find that liquor store
just to knock them windows out
and show that God Damn bottle
that two wrongs might make a right
kick this tired ego
thats been chasing us all night
and talking shit of my best gals
I wouldn't hurt 'em to save my life
