Harrowdown Hill lyrics
Thom Yorke See albums and popular songs
harrowdown hill
don’t walk the plank like i did
you will be dispensed with
when you’ve become inconvenient
up on harrowdown hill
down where you used to go to school
that’s where i am
that’s where i'm lying down
did i fall or was i pushed x2
and where’s the blood? x2
and im coming home
i’m coming home
to make it alright
so dry your eyes
we think the same things at the same time
we just can’t do anything about it…
we think the same things
at the same time
we just can’t do anything about it…
so don’t ask me, ask the ministry
so don’t ask me, ask the ministry
we think the same things at the same time
there are so many of us
so you can’t count
we think the same things at the same time
there are so many of us
so you can’t count
can you see me when I am running x2
away from there x2
i can’t take the pressure
no one cares if you die
they just won't be gone
they won't be gone
and i'm coming home
i'm coming home
to make it all right
so dry your eyes
we think the same things at the same time
we just can’t do anything about it
we think the same things at the same time
there are too many of us so you can’t
there are too many of us so you can’t count
it was me walking to the back of harrowdown hill
it was a slippery slippery slippery slope x2
i felt me slipping in and out of consciousness x2
i feel me...

The whole album is a master piece, a piece of jewel - Th omYorke Did it again man... it has you all nostalgic of KID A and Amnesia - Harrowdown HIll is my favorite piece so far - I had to read it over and over and I think I is about the unexplaned death of the british Doctor David Kelly, Harrowdown Hill is where his corps was found. I think it is also about suicide, and political activism agaisnt the Western's supremacy ways of handling things....
Thanks Thom!!! ''we think the same things at the same time... we just can’t do anything about it…''
Feel the same man....
its probably
they just want me gone
they want me gonerather than 'won't be gone'.
lovely album.
amzzing lyrics!!!!!!!!! we think the same things at the same time, we just cant do anything about it. my girlfriend and i were forced to split a year ago because of location. exactly how we felt. great song. hopefully he can make more stuff like this
It's 'up on Harrowdown Hill' not 'high and down hill'.
Awesome track on an awesome album.
We think the same things at the same time there are so many of us you can't count
reminds me of the animated movie called "waking life," there is a scene which discusses a connection between all living things that our ideas don't necesarilly come from our own conscious thought but from the collective human consciousness.
Also the director of "waking life" is making a new film which features thom yorke's "black swan," so maybe Thom became familiar with "waking life."
i know!!!
Richard Linklater!!!
he's making the second part of this movie... mmm... "before the sunset" i think...i love Waking Life... and before i saw that movie for the first time, i had a crazy déjá vu about it... about that scene in which this guy is watching a movie and he's alone in the theater... i had a dream about that scene and I WAS the guy on the theater... that was soooo insane!!!(the weirdest thing is that i had the dream a few days before i heard about the movie for the first time... i did not have idea)
anyway... bye!
dude thats insane haha... cause the movie is about dreams, i wish i could say that.
a couple of years go our dog went missing before we left for a trip and on our trip my brother had a dream that our dog was under the house and when we got back our dog was dead under the house. We think the same things at the same time!
Thom Yorke just makes it more fun to think aboutit's lovely
it's fantastic
it's meloncolic
perfection has a name : thom yorkAwesome awesome awesome, but I would have to say my favourite song is skip divided. YEAHHHH THOM YORKE!!!
This song and that movie (waking life) both extraordinary!
It's hard time for dreamers but we have to fight on!!!
simply amazing. Respect.
That's Thom Yorkish. That's the best adjective I could find. Just love it as all he has done with radiohead. These guys are the best band alive, imo =).
I can't find the words....it's fantastic!!!
Is that story true about Doctor David Kelly?LOVE THOM
COME TO PLAY IN CHILE PLEASE
YEARS WAITING FOR U MUSIC HERESEE U `PLAYING IS MY DREAM
HELP ME MAKE IT TRUE....amazingggggggg
beautiful video
the birds ,the birds, the birdsThis video and song is amazing. It all about the citizens of the uk's dissatisfaction with being lied to about jsutifications of the Iraq war. Harrowdown Hill was the location where David Kelly was found dead. He was an the government employee who was found to have pumped up the evidence in a report of there being weapons of mass destruction. Simply brillant Thom.
grande Yorke!!!
thom yorke... no te mueras nunca!
a great song, melancolic but beautiful, please come to Monterrey, mexico. thats my xmas wish...
Oh yeah! Someone said something about Chile...!
Huh, anyway, I had the pleasure to watch Thom and Johnny in London two years ago... I couldn't believe they where playing in front me, while I was drinking a glass of wine! Even thought it wasn’t Radiohead, I felt flying!... and couldn’t help it, I hated the audience a bit cause they probably had the chance to watch Radiohead's live concerts a lot of times...
Thoughtfulness and melancholy are worldwide feelings!
We wait for you in Chile...
Cambio y fuera.
I agree with Ngabó, this song talks about the unexplained death of David Kelly in Harrowdown Hill, and I had feel the same powerlessness like Thom Yorke due I live in a country with this kind of things all the time.
"so don´t ask me, ask the ministry...."
"we thing the same things at the same time, there are too many of us so you can´t count...."saludos desde México..
This album is true modern art. i believe it best to treat it as all great music and poetry...use your own feelings and instincts and find your own personal definition. We who listen to and experience the beauty of Radiohead definitely can relate to the melancholy and tyranny of this programmed world-but i always find a glimpse of hope in this wonderful music, and use it as a tool of therapy to get me though the daily struggle.
did i fall or was i pushed ?
lejos..la que mas me gusta del álbum :)
Yes. His death was said to be a suicide. He supposedly took a bunch of painkillers and slit one of his wrist. However, the evidence shows in his autopsy that he didn't ingest enough pills to OD and there wasn't enough blood at the crime scene for him to have died from the wrist slitting. they also said that the artery he cut open could not put out enough blood to cause his death before healing itself. HMMM makes you wonder... "Did I fall or was I pushed, and where's the blood?"
