When I was crowned a mummy¹s boy
by friends I didn¹t like
I made a meal of trips to school
upon my fathers bike
and I used to sit between his legs,
perched on a piece of wood
and if it ever rained on us
I slipped beneath his hood,
at home the radio was on

the world was such a simple place
with music to my ears.

I met my friends at Sunday school
and playing on the field,
inside my bedroom there I found
the future was concealed
my records stacked up in a pile,

my feet stomped the floor,

my childhood had to end,
